It is vital to the future of our sport to offer a wide range of playing opportunities to young people of all abilities to introduce them to our sport and set the foundations to become lifelong hockey players, officials and volunteers. As North West Hockey our role includes providing a range of competitions and festivals to support clubs and schools to increase participation - for feeding into national competitions are Area qualifiers to state schools festivals to support schools offer more hockey opportunities.
We are looking to recruit a range of people to join a small team to help us develop and take forward our junior opportunities in the North West. We are re-booting our NW Area Junior Committee to take forward the 2025-26 programme (already in place) and develop our future plans and junior inputs to our strategy and have reviewed our structure and roles to take us forward this next phase of Junior Hockey Development for the North West. We took on running junior competitions following the creation of the 8 Areas in 2022/23 season and from a standing start have established a solid junior framework in the NW. Looking ahead this is an ideal opportunity to build on what we have to grow even more junior hockey and broaden our reach including young umpire development and festivals and development opportunities.
