NW500 Finals Day

Finals Day Summer 2023

SHARE

Congratulations to the finalists Garstang, Lymm, Preston and Timperley for a fantastic day’s hockey at the finals day on 30 June, and many thanks to Preston for hosting and providing a largely dry day all round!

The finals were played as a round robin with the results below – it all came down to the last game with Timperley playing Lymm, with Timperley running out winners and showing great tactical nous in fielding the oldest player on the day (John Donnelly at 78), who besides making his own notable contribution enabled Timperley to field their fantastic group of lady midfielders who in the end proved just too strong for Lymm.  It was a great day’s hockey all round and this format will stay for a Finals Day next year.  Congratulations to Timperley!

Thank you for your participation in this year's competition, I hope that its been a pleasant experience for everyone.

The final, unadjusted, league tables are below for your information. These do not include points for Walkovers as it wouldn't have made any difference to the league positions. However, in the South league, I have accounted for the fact that Timperley played an extra game (a 2-2 draw against Winnington Park) but still finish ahead of Heaton on goal difference.
